ED and Your Diet: Tomatoes Help Fight ED With Lycopene
Boston Medical Group is quite naturally (pardon the pun) very concerned with the causes of erectile dysfunction, and how the development of ED can be curtailed. And as any responsible physician can tell you, what you eat can have a significant impact on your life.
Some foods can help you fight off ED.
Lycopene is a phytonutrient that is found in things like tomatoes and grapefruits
It’s an antioxidant, and known to be integral in the way of fighting cancer.
The effect is one that is positive upon circulation, and in turn, can help with fertility and potency in men.
Lycopene comes form a lot of places; as mentioned, tomatoes are a primary dietary source. But it can also be found in watermelon, guava, grapefruit and papaya.
It is, by a wide margin, most prominently found in Gac, but that is a fruit that grows in southeast Asia (and with a relatively short harvest season, we might add), and is not readily available in the U.S.
The most abundant “delivery method” of Lycopene, then, is through tomatoes, and in the form of tomato paste, believe it or not, is how it is most efficiently ingested.
